Fernforge Growth Advisory is run by me, Sally Jones, from Levin, New Zealand. I take your privacy seriously and handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. This page explains what I collect, why, and what you can do about it, in plain English.

What I collect

  • Details you give me. When you book a chat, email, call or message me: your name, email, phone number, business name and anything you choose to tell me about your business.
  • Information from our work together. Notes from our conversations and, if we work together, the business information needed to do the work.
  • Website and advertising data. This site may use the Meta Pixel and Google tags. These use cookies and similar technology to record things like the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, and actions such as clicking to book a chat. This helps me understand which content is useful and show relevant ads on Facebook, Instagram and Google.

How I use it

  • To reply to you, arrange and prepare for our chat, and deliver any work we agree on.
  • To send occasional follow-up about our conversation. You can ask me to stop at any time.
  • To improve this website and measure whether my advertising is working.
  • To show my ads to people who've visited this site, or to people similar to them.

I don't sell your personal information, and I don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Who else handles it

I use a small number of trusted services to run my business, including my email and calendar provider, my online booking tool, and Meta and Google for website analytics and advertising. Some of these store information overseas, including in the United States. I only use reputable providers and take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to a standard comparable to New Zealand law.

I may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long I keep it

I keep your information only as long as I need it for the reasons above, or as long as the law requires, for example for tax records. After that it's deleted or anonymised.

Keeping it safe

Your information is stored in password-protected systems with access limited to me and anyone helping me deliver work for you. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable care to protect it.

Your choices

  • See or correct your information. You have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you and to ask me to correct it. Just email me.
  • Turn off ad tracking. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and manage ad preferences in your Facebook, Instagram and Google account settings.
  • Stop hearing from me. Reply to any message and ask, or email me directly.

Questions or concerns

Email Email me or call Call me. If you're not happy with how I've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. If you're in Australia, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
